Declan is Technical Director at Finnebrogue Artisan, having joined the firm in 2014.

Declan Ferguson

Declan has spent 20 years working in the food business. He spent ten years at Marks and Spencer as a food technologist, managing lots of different product categories including confectionary, bakery & cakes, biscuits, prepared fruit, dried fruit & nuts, red meat and poultry.

He went onto lead the technical and development teams in Tesco Ireland & Northern Ireland, before joining Genesis Crafty who made their name producing handcrafted mince pies, scones and light & fluffy pancakes.

Declan leads a team of technologists and ensures Finnebrogue is at the forefront of market innovation, delivering high quality food day after day. He also works to establish more sustainable food production and seeks out new ways that the firm can produce food that is better for the planet that we all rely on.

Declan has a degree in Food Science from Queen’s University Belfast and is currently the Chair of IFST’s Northern Ireland Branch.
